Sept. 13, 2011: From Barbara: Well, I went into INdigo Plum to try on some Danskin shoes and there it was just perched on a clothing rack for all to see (especially me) and when I turned it over and read it I ran over and hugged Ashley..What a treat..Thank you Indigo Plum and Ashley. .I will shop agains soon and look very hard as I need more....
Sept. 13, 2011: From Abby: It capped off a beautiful, sunny day spent with my good friend listening to an outdoo concert in gig harbor. I felt blessed and rewarded with something special.
Sept. 11, 2011: From Carol: Made MY DAY... I knew where it was going to be... But not the store. So I sent out at 10:AM to look for it.. My husband said I was excited as a child... I was I love it!!!
Sept. 2, 2011: From Penny: I'm going to hang it in my office at work. It made me smile and feel grateful.

July 22, 2011; From Sam: Perfect Book Mark.... It was a pretty cool day to begin with, as I was out walking with my baby girl. She loves it too, it made the day even more special as she spotted it first.
July 16, 2011: From Joanne, Oregon. I'm going to put it on my window sill in my sewing room which is my \"happy place\" and this cute colorful card will add a lot. It's always fun to find a treasure and that's what this felt like - and so unexpected. It added to an already great day I was having with my sister, who I was visiting in Gig Harbor.
July 16, 2011; From Kay: It is a sea glass pendant. I put it on a chain and I wear it as a necklace. Made me very happy and I felt very
lucky to have found such a nice piece of jewelry.
July 11, 2011: FromSandy: hang it in my window so it catches the light! I was visiting my daughter in Gig Harbor and we were looking at all the nice things at Wild Birds Unlimited store when I saw this pretty glass apple hanging on a hook. My daughter saw the \"Free Art\" sign and said \"Mom, that's free art you're looking at\". I was thrilled. Thank you!
June 28; From Marie: I will display the art somewhere in my home, or perhaps use it as a hostess gift - thus sharing the joy. The piece is a charming tile of a bird perched on a flowering branch, and an easel on which to place it. It made me happy, how could it not?!? I had read about the project, but never expected to find Free Art myself. Actually, I found it at Garden #4 during the Gig Harbor Garden Tour. Thank you, Mr. Valley, for opening your garden to all of us. Thank you Kathy Thurston, for donating your art. Thank you, Free Art, for your wonderful project.
June 27: From Ann in Gig Harbor: Surprised and special. I've been looking for the art work in various places since you started this. Didn't ever think I'd find one. I'm soooo excited. Looks like a puzzle, I'll keep it near to fiddle with.
June 26, 2011: From Samantha: It's a beautiful basket so I wanted to keep it someplace out in the open for all to see so I put it on the table by my front door so I can keep my keys, etc in it. Thank you SO much! It was hanging in the Community Garden during the GH Garden Tour
June 23, 2011: From Susan: It's such a pretty little card, I put it on my bookshelf so I have to walk by it everyday. I was so surprised to find it at the Wine Studio. I almost just left it there but, it was so beautiful, and it did say \"turn me over\". Then the best part was that it was free. Wow, it made me feel really good.
June 6, 2011: From Ruth, Owls Head, Maine. I found kitty #4 and has been named Bolognese. We have cats named for sauces. It was a fun night at Morso and this just topped it off. What a surprise and a feel good project! I will pass it on!!
May 26, 2011: From Stephanie: Keep it as a momentum from my trip to the Harbor History Museum. It was neat!! I didn't think it was real!! It definitely made my dad and I smile!!
May 7, 2011: My new kitty's name \"Jenna\" was given to her by the youngest (I believe the youngest) daughter of the shopkeeper at Heidi' Sweet Shop in Gig Harbor. Great selection of candy including high quality truffles, Beligum, and Swiss chocolate, and so much more. Suggest \"all\" to visit the shop and fix that sweet tooth.
May 7, 2011: I will place my FREE ART with my Mothers Day flowers! With the quote: \"Mothers listen when no one else cares!\" It was such a joy to find this free art at the Ebb Tide gallery! Thank you for the free art! It offers a nice connection with people. It was their Open House today with excellent live music, wonderful food, and fantastic art from all the artists. I bought art from Kathy Thurston after finding my free art! She has new art tiles everyone should see!
April 23, 2010: Dorina from Island Woodwork in Hawaii...I received my free art here on Kauai in Feb. and have had it on my table at the luau where I am a vender. I make Koa wood gifts and jewels and have had the \"celebrate\" peice on my table every nite makes me smile every time I take it out and place it amongst my Koa wood work. Thank You so very much for sharing!
April 11, 2011: Upon finding a basket from Sherry Marforth...Not sure yet but I might give it as a gift. Made me smile of course!
May 25, 2011: I have it on my desk at work...the message is perfect! I have Kitty #1 and have named her Polka! It absolutely made my day!
May 25, 2011: Mine was brought to me by my Son. He found it at the Tanglewood and thought of me. It has the best saying \"sometimes the perfect gift is a cheery smile!\", that helps remind me to do so when I'm at work as an Insurance Agent. My job is very stressful, and being a cancer survivor I know how that can affect you. Looking up an seeing it gives me such a lift.
Dec. 16th, 2010 The art is a card so I am going to write a note to my grandmother. She could use a beautiful card and a sweet note too! It put a smile on my face. I then had to share the news with friends. :)
Nov. 27, 2010 (From Melody) I WENT OUT TO DINNER IN GIG HARBOR THAT NITE AND WORE THE FREE NECKLACE...I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN SO MANY COMPLIMENTS EVER.....SAM IS A VERY TALENTED ARTIST...SHE ROCKS...I AM WEARING THE FREE NECKLACE I FOUND. I LOVE IT. I HAVE GOTTEN SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ON IT. NOT SURE OF THE STONE, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE A STONE YOU COULD FINE ON THE OCEAN SHORES....I LOVE IT.
Nov. 24, 2010 (From Jennifer) I was quite surprised. At first I didn't believe it and almost put it back on the shelf. Then a sales person from \"The Beach Basket Christmas shop\" said it truly was free and I was welcome to have it. I knew immediately what I would do with it. Thanks! It really gave me an unexpected lift! I plan to give it to a close friend with a box of speciality chocolates for her birthday. In recent months she has been going through an extremely challenging period of her life. I have frequently supplied her with chocolate as a little boost.

I will tell her that this is the way I would like it done because the way I found it through \"Feel Good Free Art\"...so this way, every woman can and will have the experience to enjoy wearing this beautiful earing. At first, I wasn't sure if I should take it...then I read the message, I quickly put it in my purse. Then I read it again just to be sure it WAS alright to take it. I smiled and admired the earings for quite a while.

WE have a black cat (Kramer), and the verse referenced a black cat on the Halloween art. I was looking for a price, but the sales staff at Elandan informed me it was free!! How sweet! I am sending it to my son in Chicago as a Halloween gift from Kramer, the cat. Thanks!!! It was one of those \"all's right with the world\" afternoons. Blessings do come in the least expected moments and places.

Especially because it has a great quote about \"true friends\" on it! It was lovely to open the mailbox and find this great little painting about \"True Friends\" there! Afterward we went across the street so the kids could burn some energy at the park. It had been a rainy morning, and the last thing I expected to find was art. I love it! Brightened my day!

Sept. 9, 2010 (From Bill in Port Orchard) Take it to the Kitsap County Museum in Bremerton to see if they have more info on the ferry VICTOR in the historical photo. Was very pleased to learn that the Harbor History Museum was opening. We don't get much news about Gig Harbor up north.

Sept. 2, 2010 (From Kathy) At first I thought it was a trick! I felt ackward going into the bathroom at Anthony's and walking out with art! My husband thought it was pretty funny. There were 3 pieces (2 yellow backed canvas paintings with whimsical heads and sayings and one Roosterette picture.) I took one of the yellow ones and told my husband about the Roosterette one. He sent me back into the bathroom to get the Roosterette picture. Like a greedy child, I took all 3 pieces...BUT, I secretly put 2 on 2 other boat owners boats so I didn't keep them all to myself. But we did hide them in our pockets because it felt like we were stealing! It felt great to get a cool feebie in the bathroom!!!

Thank you for my feel good free art. I was visiting your charming town in July and picked up one of your paintings. I was in Washington to see my grand daughter's commissioning at Fort Lewis. What a surprise to receive the painting which was nestled in a plant I was admiring. The painting traveled with me to Alaska, Canada and back home with me to North Carolina. It will soon travel to Myrtle Beach where it will have a home overlooking the marsh on the sound.....It will be very happy I promise you.....

August 31, 2010 ( From Andraia) My free art is a Leopard Skin Jasper pendant for a necklace. It was in The Harbor Mercantile and what an amazing find! At first I couldn't believe it was FREE so I asked the owner, Dennis, and he confirmed what Feel Good Free Art Project does within the community.It made me happy! I was already looking at the stone thinking how beautiful it is and unique it is, but then when I received it for free it was like I found a little treasure when I least expected it.

Today I took my 89 year old mother and her visiting friend from California to Anthony's in the Harbor for lunch. August 19, 2010 (From Karen) I am going to keep this piece of art in fond rememberance of my first trip to Gig Harbor and the wonderful concert given by the Coats Vocal Band. It will sit on my computer desk where I go daily and as I look at the photo I will remember the beautiful park and Marina area there at Skansie Brothers Park. My piece of art will definately make me want to come back to Gig Harbor in the not too distant future

We had read about the program in the paper and felt very lucky to be the recipients. It excited my daughter and she wanted to search for more. I had just seen Julie who had found her art work just last week and lo and behold, by the side of the sidewalk I spied a picture that I knew quite well.....C.E. Shaw is my grandfather, and I grew up with the Racing Roosters and the Round Rock contests.... yes, he always appreciated a pretty girl in a bathing suit. He always said if you want to promote something...a pretty girl will bring them in every time..!

To my surprise I found this wonderful surprise on my door step. I laughed when I read it \"Lead me not into temptation-I think I can get there myself\" I absolutely love it! You turned my day around!
July 31, 2010 (From Anon) It made me feel very happy. I was touched that a piece I thought was a great statement was now mine! I was at the new Paisley store on my day off to show support to the new business. Withing a half hour of the find, I found out my sister had cancer. How fortunate I was to experience joy before such tragic news. Little things mean a lot.

We stopped at the Wild Bird Center and were looking around when I saw the piece of art on a bench. I picked it up and when I turned it over I saw the note that it was mine for FREE. I was quite excited and told my husband look this is mine. He was surprised also. What a fun idea.

July 18, 2010 (From Danielle)what little $$$ i had was going on my daughter & her friend at the gig harbor arts festival. when i saw the canvas it had been lost & someone placed it on kit kuhn's window for it to be seen & found. or maybe it belonged to the store. i wasn't going to take it but i picked it up to look & then saw the text on the back. it was a childlike feeling of finding a treasure & also a treat for me. thank you so much...:)

July 10, 2010: ( From Kevin and Kristin, Swift Current, Saskatchewan)We found the painting outside of the Fire Hall Bistro in Oliver, BC. WE enjoyed eating calamari and borsht while talking about what a good Idea it is to leave free art for anyone who wants it. It made us very happy because we were on our honeymoon and the painting says \"Celebrate!\" It just was an extra bit of happiness for us to find a free piece of art.
July 2010; I was on an outing with my best friend. I'm staying with her as I heal from knee replacement surgery and she was taking me out on some of her errands so I could get a break from \"elevate and ice.\" It felt good to be out and feeling great about the surgery being successful and my recovery going so smoothly. Discovering this adorable free piece of art with its wonderful message was the icing on the cake.....it simply gave emphasis to what I was already experiencing....celebrate the moment!
July :I found it in the waiting room of the chemo treatment facility, but felt I was NOT worthy of such a gift. The nurse asked while I was taking the chemo, if I saw the picture, and I told her yes, but that I didn't take it. The doctor had just told me that I have ABOUT five years, if that, and even that was not a sure thing. I was really down. The nurse went out to get the picture and gave it to me to keep. It made me smile, which I hadn't done in months. It actually cut the edge off my pain. Thank You so much for doing this, as it means a lot to individuals like me who are going through a stressful period. It makes our days brighter.
7/7/10: I am going to take it back to Dublin, Ireland and show it off to my friends and perhaps get it started over there. I was in a shop in Gig Harbour looking at a large mosaic of a bird and I picked up my piece. I was delighted to get it and it really made my day. My sister was with me and we had come from Nanaimo in Canada.
7/4/10. Pati from Olympia writes.....It made my day. I almost didn't go on the last-minute mini road trip with my husband and kids. And then standing outside Sea Glass Interiors, there it was inside a planter. I thought it was napkins at first and when I picked it up and read the back I ran to ask the lady inside the store if it was true. She said yes and I talked about it the whole way home. I'm going to write an entry in my own blog about it...What a wonderful gig in Gig Harbor...thank you, thank you, thank you!
